Regent Builds
The 5 main Regent builds, ranked from strongest to weakest. Jump to any build for its core cards, supporting cards, and key relics.
Rankings weigh how quickly each build comes together, how far it scales and how well it holds up at high Ascension, checked against the current game data. Early Access balance changes often, so watch the version notes.
Which Regent build is best?
SStar Engine
Stockpile Stars with cheap generators, then cash them in on star-cost cards for big damage and Block.
How it plays
Early on, pick up generators such as Glow, Hidden Cache, Gather Light and Solar Strike while keeping your Block up. In the mid-game add spenders like Comet, Reflect and Seven Stars, plus a steady source like Genesis. Later, Black Hole and Child of the Stars turn every Star you gain or spend into extra damage or Block.
Why S tier
Stars are the Regent's own resource, so this deck is built from commons you see every run: Glow, Hidden Cache and Gather Light each cost 1 Energy and come with draw or Block attached, while spenders like Comet (33 damage plus Weak and Vulnerable) cost no Energy at all. It does not hinge on any single rare and covers both bosses and groups, which puts it above every other Regent build.
Strengths
The most reliable Regent deck: it holds up at high Ascension and handles both single bosses and groups.
Weaknesses
Act 1 can feel clumsy if you draft Stars with nothing to spend them on, or spenders with no income; keep the two in balance.

AAlignment Loop
Shrink the deck to a handful of cards so Glow and Alignment can be cycled over and over for near-endless Stars, Energy and draw.
How it plays
Start like a normal Star deck, then use GUARDS!!!, CHARGE!! and BEGONE! to turn filler into one-use cards that Exhaust, and Tyranny to burn off more. With upgraded Glow and Alignment in a deck of about 10 cards, you can draw your whole deck every turn and finish with Radiate or Stardust.
Why A tier
This has the Regent's highest ceiling: Alignment turns Stars into 2 Energy for no Energy, and in a deck thinned to about 10 cards Glow draws it back every turn, so the loop can play out your whole deck. But it needs the rare GUARDS!!! or other transform cards, specific upgrades and several turns of setup, and until then it is just a weaker Star deck, so it sits one step below the Star Engine it grows out of.
Strengths
The Regent's highest ceiling: once it is running, most fights end in a single turn.
Weaknesses
Needs specific upgrades, heavy deck thinning and a few turns of setup; if the pieces never arrive, it is just a weaker Star deck.
Version notes
- Alignment costs 3 Stars in the live version (v0.107.1) but only 2 in the beta (v0.111.0), which makes the loop much easier to keep running on the beta.

BSovereign Blade Forge
Keep Forge-ing the retained Sovereign Blade until it lands one huge hit, ideally on every enemy.
How it plays
Get Sovereign Blade into hand early with Summon Forth or Fencing Manual, then Forge every turn with Furnace, Bulwark, Wrought in War and similar cards. Seeking Edge makes the Blade hit all enemies, and Conqueror doubles its damage for a turn. Keep the deck lean so you see the Blade often.
Why B tier
Every Forge card adds damage to a single Sovereign Blade, so against one boss it outgrows anything else the Regent has. But Forge cards deal no damage the turn you play them, and hitting groups depends on finding the rare Seeking Edge, which makes Act 1 and multi-enemy fights much shakier than with a Star deck. Strong late but slow and narrow, it lands at B.
Strengths
Enormous single-target damage once ramped, great against bosses, and easy to play.
Weaknesses
Slow to start and leans on finding Seeking Edge; without it, fights against several enemies get rough.
Version notes
- Refine Blade Forges 9 in the live version (v0.107.1) and 8 in the beta (v0.111.0).
- Spoils of Battle Forges 5 in the live version (v0.107.1) and 6 in the beta (v0.111.0).

BVoid Form
Spend one turn on Void Form, then play the first two cards of every turn for free.
How it plays
Void Form ends your turn, so play it early in a fight, ideally after Convergence so you keep your hand and start the next turn with extra Energy and a Star. From then on, spend the free plays on your priciest cards such as Seven Stars, Bulwark or Genesis, and let Stars pay for Comet and Reflect.
Why B tier
Once Void Form is down, two free cards every turn is one of the strongest effects the Regent has, and it does not need a big Star economy. But it costs 3 Energy and ends your turn, which hurts against early pressure, and the unupgraded card is Ethereal, so if you cannot afford it the turn you draw it, it is gone for the fight. A big payoff locked behind one rare card and a lost turn puts it level with Forge at B.
Strengths
Does not need a huge Star economy and gives a big boost to every turn once it is down.
Weaknesses
Costs 3 Energy plus a whole turn, so it struggles against early pressure and relies on drawing it early; the base card is also Ethereal.

CCard Creation
Create random Colorless cards every turn and scale off each one with Arsenal and Pillar of Creation.
How it plays
Play Spectrum Shift for a free Colorless card every turn, backed by Arsenal for Strength and Pillar of Creation for Block whenever a card is created. Quasar, Manifest Authority and Bundle of Joy create even more, and Supermassive cashes in on the total.
Why C tier
Arsenal and Pillar of Creation reward volume, but Spectrum Shift only creates one card a turn and the random Colorless cards still cost Energy, so the Strength and Block pile up slowly and the hand you get is unpredictable. The same pieces work well bolted onto a Star deck, but as a standalone plan it is the least consistent Regent build, hence C.
Strengths
Passively stacks Strength and Block, and random Colorless cards often hand you an answer you would not otherwise have.
Weaknesses
The random cards are inconsistent and cost Energy to use; on its own it creates too few cards a turn to carry a fight, so it works better as support for a Star deck.
Version notes
- Pillar of Creation gives 3 Block per created card in the live version (v0.107.1) but only 2 in the beta (v0.111.0) (upgraded: 4 vs 3).
